What IS an Energy Audit?
- An energy audit determines the heat loss and heat gain in your home.
- It determines the condition of your current equipment, the ENTIRE home conditions, and
- evaluates YOUR living conditions based upon YOUR needs.
What does an Energy Audit include?
We do the following checks:
- Measure the home - windows, rooms, doors
- Check the insulation
- Examine the duct work
- Check to see that the ducts are clear and are the proper size. (Most homes are short on this.)
- Perform equipment inspections
- Run a NEEDS survey to determine YOUR specific needs.
- Check allergy conditions.
- Determine current problems.
Then, we follow all this up with a written outline and assessment, along with an estimate and recommendation to solve any existing
problems.
We find that most homes do NOT measure up to the specific needs for the individual and family.
Often lacking are air quality controls, proper duct work, poor insulation, and other types of problems.
